Information
Club training sessions
Club sessions are held at the Boat House, on the banks of the River Tweed during our rowing season, which is mainly from March to October, when weather and tide conditions are suitable. During the winter months training sessions are still held but in the format of ergo and circuit training.
Club sessions are:
Juniors – Monday evenings from 5:00 pm.
New junior members - please checkout the Junior rowing webpage. There is currently a waiting list.
Seniors – Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm.
New senior members - please checkout the Events webpage and Facebook for upcoming Learn to Row sessions.
There are some Saturday and Sunday outings, this is dependent on tide and weather conditions.
Everyone should bring dry clothes and a towel.
The club has a range of boats available from single sculls to fours and quads. Fours are ideal for getting to grips with the basics of rowing, and quads provide a good introduction to sculling. If you have never rowed before, most people can pick up the basics of rowing after a couple of sessions. Once you have mastered the technique you could then have a try at double and single sculling.
Members
Membership is open to everyone, and no previous experience is required. We provide tuition and support to all new members to help them get started. For safety reasons, members should be in good health, able to swim at least 50 metres, and willing to take part in a capsize drill.
